Paul Latham (1958-2022)

Parents: Lin Latham & W. David Latham
Children: none

(Arthur Alexander) Paul Latham was born in Vancouver on January 22, 1958. That year, his father David briefly taught Latin at St. George’s School, where Paul would later study and graduate in 1975. Completing a degree in Psychology at UBC, Paul pursued a career as a Federal Peace Officer for Correctional Service Canada, at Kent Institution in Agassiz, BC.

He was a sensitive, intelligent man with a great sense of humour, and positive spirit in the face of serious health problems. A strong sense of both justice and injustice infused his worldview with sincere caring and concern for marginalized people. He worked with many groups, including the mildly disabled in a continuing education and social recreation project at UBC’s Bob Berwick Memorial Centre.

Paul passed away on March 15, 2022. His mischievous smile and twinkling eyes will be sorely missed by his many friends, his sister Ann, and brother Mark. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donating to drpeter.org.
